Challenge : in close proximity to the Thonon-les-Bains train station, the Dessaix district had been converted into a temporary car park awaiting revival. The project aimed to unify an eclectic architectural environment to bring elegance and coherence, transforming this former "void" into a lively living space, a focal point between the station and the city center.
Our mission :
- Co-Promoter (urban renewal strategy – project management and development)
- Recompose an urban center by proposing an architectural project to ensure urban coherence and a diverse range of uses
Project : to meet the required density for the area to become vibrant (35,000 m² created), extreme vigilance has been taken to ensure that this density can be experienced without oppression. Therefore, a significant emphasis was placed on nature, with adjusted perspectives for each inhabitant.
The Dessaix district was designed as the reconstitution of the complexity of the city, creating a new and attractive hub between the train station and the city center.
